Project :  SURYAPI HEAD OFFICE

Date :  2009

Location :  İstanbul / Türkiye

Employer :  Sur Yapı

Construction Area :  2.000 m²

This office building sits on a hillside in a way that people can perceive the facade of the building.
It has been primarily designed as a sales office for the high-rise residential complex located next to it.
In the future, the building is destined to become the head office of the construction company that commissioned it.
The building has a total of 2182 m² and it consists of a total of 3 floors, 2 basements and a ground floor.
The ground floor features sales administration units and exhibition space.
Representative flats have been placed on the first basement while technical units and parking can be found on the floor under it.
This building had to have a spectacular architectural language since for visitors and potential clients it is the first impression.
The building has been designed as a prismatic mass which ranges to a gap with the help of cantilevers and that lay on its south and west facades.
The south facade is placed in front of a glass surface as a secondary facade. Wooden panels with an interesting geometry strenghten the perception of the
building as witnessed from the main road while the solid-void relationship brings a comfortable office ambiance by controlling sunlight and sound.
Between the wooden panels and the glass facade, the space turns into terraces that allows natural ventilation.
North facade, facing the high-rise residential complex, features a degree of transparency in order for the visitors to fully appreciate the construction site.
The sharp geometric combination of materials, natural stone, glass and wood, shaped not only the character of the building but of the landscape design of
its surrounding as well.
